Craft Alliance: Follow the Leader | Guerra De La Paz

Craft Alliance in Grand Center Gallery presents GUERRA DE LA PAZ: Follow the Leader. Guerra de la Paz is the composite name representing the creative team of Cuban born artists, Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz. This installation is named after the popular children’s game where the object is to pick a leader and then fall in line. Resonating social order and natural selection, the installation transcends a child’s game, touching on the uncanny parallels between this harmless pastime and the complexities of hierarchy in a society following Darwin’s “survival of the fittest”. The two artists see themselves as vehicles guided by the essence and silent histories of the discarded clothing.
